Stork's Nest

Since 1972, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority has enjoyed a partnership with the March of Dimes in an effort to encourage women to seek prenatal care within the first trimester of pregnancy, thereby increasing the prevention of birth defects and infant mortality. The service is the establishment of a distribution site, the "Nest," where expectant mothers, referred by cooperating hospitals, clinics, and health centers, can get necessary items such as maternity clothes, layettes and furniture at minimal or no cost. The educational component consists of seven sessions covering prenatal care, nutrition, drugs, alcohol and smoking, genetics, infant care and parenting.

March of Dimes WalkAmerica

Begun in 1970, WalkAmerica is the first and best-loved walking event in the nation. As the March of Dimes biggest fund-raiser, WalkAmerica supports research and programs to help babies in your community and across the country get a healthy start.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority has been a national WalkAmerica team since 1998.

Zeta Prematurity Awareness Sunday

In response to the significant rise in premature births, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and the March of Dimes are holding national events aimed at increasing community awareness. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority members across the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands conduct Prematurity Awareness Sunday activities in houses of worship. The sorority's efforts are a prelude to the March of Dimes National Prematurity Awareness Day observance on Tuesday, November 16, in which March of Dimes volunteers, Zeta members and others will make a concerted effort to help shed light on an increasing infant health problem.

Blue Revue

Beta Zeta's Miss Blue Revue is a comprehensive debutante scholarship program, focusing on etiquette, community service, and college preparation. It provides young ladies the opportunity to be involved in educational and personal growth activities that can open doors for them as they transition into womanhood. Debutantes learn social graces and etiquette; effective communication skills; interview techniques for scholarship and employment opportunities; effective resume, cover letter, and scholarship essay writing; financial planning strategies; and, most important—strategies for building self-esteem and handling peer pressure. The Miss Blue Revue Program culminates in an elegant ball featuring dining and dancing, where successful debutantes are formally presented to the Washington Metropolitan community.
